Marble blocks for overseas processors

Marble blocks for overseas processors

A marble block is a large squared piece of stone taken from the quarry. Factories in many countries buy blocks and cut them into slabs and tiles on their own gangsaws. Natural Stone Cart is a marble blocks exporter in India. We supply selected blocks of Indian white, beige, green and other marbles to processors, traders and manufacturers who want control over cutting, finish and product range.

If you are searching for a marble block supplier in India, marble quarry blocks, or Indian marble blocks for export, this page explains how we help.

White, green and pink marble blocks from our own quarry

We are quarry owners of marble in North India and extract white, green and pink marble blocks for processors overseas. Blocks suit further processing by gangsaw and chainsaw machines, and we can supply regular break-bulk shipments on a per ton or per cbm basis, or container loads for smaller programmes.

Regions and varieties

Most Indian marble blocks come from Rajasthan. Makrana is known for pure white marble and has been associated with monuments for centuries. Udaipur and Rajsamand produce off-white and greyish-white marbles in large quantities. The Rikhabdeo area supplies deep green stone with white veining. Banswara produces softer white to off-white dolomitic marble often used for cladding, and the Jaipur area produces varieties such as Andhi Pista, a white stone with green serpentine veins. Each source gives a different colour, density and yield.

We help you choose the source that fits your product. A processor targeting bright white floor tiles needs a different block from one making green feature slabs.

Block selection and yield

Marble blocks can have natural fissures, veins and colour changes. We look for blocks with even colour, limited cracks, good squareness and a size that suits your gangsaw. We share photos of all sides of the block, plus short videos, so you can judge likely yield. We also discuss the grading you want, for example “commercial”, “selected” or “premium”, and write it in your order.

Because marble is softer than granite, careful handling matters. Blocks are lifted and loaded with proper slings and supports to avoid damage.

Sizes, weight and loading

Blocks are usually described by length, width and height in centimetres, with weight in tonnes. Marble is denser than people expect, so a 20ft container carries only a few blocks. A standard 20ft container can usually handle roughly 25 to 28 tonnes, but your port and road rules may set a lower limit. We plan every load by weight, and we tell you before shipping how many blocks fit.

Blocks are secured inside the container with timber supports so they cannot shift at sea. We share photos of the loading and the sealed container.

Customs and documents

Crude or roughly trimmed marble in blocks is generally classified under HS heading 2515. We prepare the commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading and, where needed, a certificate of origin. Your customs broker will confirm the right code and duty for your country, and we can talk to them directly if needed.

We can also quote CIF or FOB, depending on how you prefer to handle freight and insurance.

From blocks to finished products

Some customers start with blocks and later add slabs and tiles to their order. We can supply finished marble slabs, flooring tiles and cut-to-size pieces in the same container, so your factory can focus on its strongest products while you test new colours quickly.

Planning your container and shipment

A good load plan saves money. A standard 20ft container can usually carry roughly 25 to 28 tonnes, but the exact limit depends on the shipping line and on road and port rules in your country. Marble is dense and more delicate than granite, so we use extra protection between slabs and plan loads by weight. We calculate the load by weight and by size, so you do not pay for space you cannot use. Mixed containers are possible: you can combine different stones, sizes or products, which helps wholesale buyers keep stock varied.

We ship from the ports of Mundra and Kandla in Gujarat to ports around the world, and we share photos of the loading so you can see how your stone is secured. Sea freight time depends on the route and the shipping line, and we give you an expected time with each quote.

Export documents and customs for marble blocks

Clear paperwork keeps your container moving. For every shipment we prepare the commercial invoice, packing list and bill of lading, and where your country needs it, a certificate of origin and other documents. Packing wood is treated for export, and we can supply the treatment details if your port requires them. Marble blocks are generally classified under HS heading 2515, and worked marble under 6802.

Customs rules and duty rates differ by country, so please confirm the exact classification and duty with your customs broker or the official tariff of your country. If you tell us your port and clearing agent, we will send documents in the format they prefer, and we are happy to answer their questions directly.

Quality control, inspection and claims

Before packing marble blocks, our team checks size, thickness, surface, colour and edges. We separate pieces that do not meet the agreed standard, and we explain what is natural variation and what is a defect. You are welcome to arrange third-party inspection before loading, and we cooperate fully with inspectors.

If a problem is found when the container arrives, tell us quickly and send photos of the packing, the damaged pieces and the container condition. We look at each case fairly and work with you on a solution. Good packing, honest photos and clear agreements keep claims rare.

Working with architects, builders and fabricators

Professional buyers need more than a price. Architects want samples and clear specifications. Builders want the right quantity on the right date. Fabricators want slabs that cut well and match across a project. We support all of them with real photos, written specifications, labelled packing and honest delivery dates. Marble projects often need book-matched slabs and tight colour matching, so we plan these early.

For larger projects we can produce in batches, keep reference samples, and share progress photos. If you send a bill of quantities or drawings, we check the details and tell you early if something needs a decision, such as the size of a piece or the thickness of an edge.
