Marble slabs and marble flooring for beautiful interiors
Marble slabs and marble floor tiles bring light, elegance and value to a building. They are used in villas, apartments, hotels, malls and offices around the world. If you are searching for Indian marble slabs, marble flooring supplier, or marble floor tiles India, this guide will help you choose and order with confidence.
Slabs or tiles: which should you buy?
Slabs are large pieces, often cut and finished by a local fabricator. They are ideal for feature walls, vanity tops, tables, stairs and large floors with few joints. Tiles are cut to size at the factory, calibrated for even thickness and ready to lay quickly. They are better for large floor areas, because they save time on site. Many projects use both: tiles for the main floor and slabs for borders, stairs and special areas.
Tell us your layout and we will advise the most economical way to cut the marble to reduce waste.
Sizes and thickness
Typical marble floor tile sizes are 300 x 300 mm, 600 x 300 mm, 600 x 600 mm and larger formats. Thickness is usually 10 mm for walls, 15–20 mm for floors, and 30 mm for steps and heavy-use areas. Slabs are commonly 18–20 mm and 30 mm. We can cut any size to your drawing. Calibrated tiles with a small thickness tolerance give a flatter floor and make installation faster.
For stairs, ask for matching treads and risers cut from the same slab, so the pattern flows naturally.
Finishes and slip resistance
Polished marble is glossy and looks stunning in dry living areas, but it can be slippery when wet. Honed marble has a matte surface with a safer feel underfoot, and brushed or antique finishes add texture. In bathrooms, entrances and any wet area, choose a honed or textured finish and follow the slip-resistance requirements of your country.
Always seal marble after installation and use pH-neutral cleaners. Avoid acids, which can dull the surface.
Design ideas for marble
- White marble floors with grey veining for bright, modern spaces.
- Beige marble for warm hotel and villa lobbies.
- Black or green marble borders to frame a floor.
- Marble inlays and patterns, such as checkerboard or diagonal layouts.
- Full-height marble walls in bathrooms for a spa effect.
Marble can be combined with granite, wood and metal. Many designers use marble for the main surfaces and a darker granite for kitchen counters for the best of both stones.
Packing and delivery
Marble slabs and tiles are protected with spacers and edge guards, packed in strong frames or cartons, and loaded carefully. We ship from Mundra and Kandla and share photos. Worked marble slabs and tiles are generally classified under HS heading 6802. We prepare all export papers for your customs agent.
Natural variation: what to expect
Marble is a natural material, so no two pieces are exactly the same. Colour, grain, veins and small marks vary from slab to slab and from lot to lot. This variation is part of the beauty of the stone, and a good design plans for it. To reduce differences on a project, buy all material from the same lot, keep slabs in bundle order and lay pieces out before fixing them.
We tell you honestly what to expect from each stone, and we send photos of the real lot. If your project needs very tight colour matching, tell us early, and we will select accordingly.
Care and maintenance
Marble is softer than granite, so seal it after installation, wipe spills quickly and avoid acidic cleaners. As with any natural stone, use soft cloths, mild cleaners made for stone and clean up spills quickly. Avoid strong acids and harsh abrasive pads. For floors, use mats at entrances to catch grit, and protect the surface under heavy furniture.
We give simple care instructions you can share with your own customers. Good care keeps the stone looking fresh for decades, which is why natural stone is considered a long-term investment in a building.
Start with a trial order and grow from there
If you are new to importing marble slabs and flooring from India, we suggest a simple plan. First, tell us what sells in your market. Second, review photos and approve samples. Third, place a trial container with a mix of colours or sizes. Fourth, after you receive the stone and see how your customers react, plan repeat orders and volume contracts.
Many of our long-term customers began with one mixed container. We keep your preferred selection and packing details on file, so repeat orders are faster, and we keep you updated if a colour or size changes.

What affects the price of marble slabs and flooring
Buyers often ask for one simple price, but the price of marble slabs and flooring depends on several things. The stone variety and its rarity matter most, because some colours come from small quarries and cost more. Thickness, size and surface finish change the cost, since thicker and larger pieces need more material and more careful handling. Calibration, meaning how exact the thickness and size are, also adds work. Selection grade matters too: a premium selection with very even colour costs more than a mixed commercial selection. Quantity helps, because bigger orders spread packing and loading costs. Finally freight terms (FOB or CIF), the destination port and the exchange rate affect the final number.
Marble is dense and more delicate than granite, so we use extra protection between slabs and plan loads by weight. To get a fair comparison between suppliers, always ask for quotes on the same stone, size, thickness, finish and terms. We write all of these clearly in our quotation, so you can compare line by line.
