Granite pavers India: strong stone for driveways, plazas and gardens
Granite pavers India: strong stone for driveways, plazas and gardens
Granite pavers are small, hard-wearing blocks and slabs used for driveways, entrances, courtyards, plazas, paths and garden edges. They carry heavy loads, resist frost and wear, and look better with age. Natural Stone Cart is a granite pavers exporter in India. We supply granite pavers, setts, cobbles, kerb-edge stone and stepping-stair stone in grey, black, pink, red and mixed colours, as part of our complete range of North and South Indian granite.
If you are searching for granite pavers India, granite paving stone supplier or granite cobbles and kerbs for landscape projects, this guide shows how to choose.
Types of granite paving
- Pavers and setts: small cut blocks, laid in rows, fans or patterns.
- Cobbles: natural-split or tumbled blocks for a rustic, old-street look.
- Paving slabs: larger flat granite pieces for patios and terraces.
- Kerbs and edging: straight and curved edge stones for roads, drives and beds.
- Steps and stair stone: treads and risers with grip.
- Wall coverings and window sills: matching stone for a finished design.
All of these can be cut to your size list. We keep thickness and tolerances consistent, so your installers can lay quickly.
Finishes for grip and look
Flamed granite has a rough, textured surface with excellent slip resistance, which is why it is a top choice for outdoor steps and drives. Sawn and honed finishes are smoother and look contemporary. Bush-hammered granite has a deeply textured surface. Natural-split faces give an authentic rustic look for cobbles and setts. Choose the finish by where the stone will be used, and ask for samples to check the colour in your light.
Colours and sizes
Granite pavers are available in grey, dark grey, black, pink, red, yellow-brown and mixed colours. Common sizes include 100 x 100 mm setts, 200 x 100 mm pavers and larger slabs such as 600 x 300 mm and 600 x 600 mm. Thickness depends on use: lighter pavers for paths, thicker for drives. Tell us your drawings or size list and we will propose suitable sizes, and we can supply custom sizes.
Standards and installation
In Europe, setts are covered by EN 1342, paving slabs by EN 1341 and kerbs by EN 1343, and CE marking is commonly requested by merchants. Ask us which documents your market expects, and we will arrange them with the producer. For installation, use a properly compacted base, a bedding layer and joint filling suited to the load. For drives, follow the guidance of your engineer or installer.
What affects the price of granite pavers
Buyers often ask for one simple price, but the price of granite pavers depends on several things. The stone variety and its rarity matter most, because some colours come from small quarries and cost more. Thickness, size and surface finish change the cost, since thicker and larger pieces need more material and more careful handling. Calibration, meaning how exact the thickness and size are, also adds work. Selection grade matters too: a premium selection with very even colour costs more than a mixed commercial selection. Quantity helps, because bigger orders spread packing and loading costs. Finally freight terms (FOB or CIF), the destination port and the exchange rate affect the final number.
Granite is very dense, so weight, not space, usually decides how much fits in a container. To get a fair comparison between suppliers, always ask for quotes on the same stone, size, thickness, finish and terms. We write all of these clearly in our quotation, so you can compare line by line.
Samples, photos and approval before you order
Natural stone changes from one lot to another, so we never ask you to buy without seeing it. For granite pavers, we send real photos and short videos of the stone you will receive, and we can courier a small sample so you can check colour, pattern and finish in your own light. Samples work best when they come from the same lot as your order, so please tell us if you want the sample and the container to match closely.
When you approve a sample, we keep a reference piece. If your order is large, we can send bundle photos before loading, or arrange third-party inspection. This simple process protects you from surprises and protects our relationship with you. Ask us for samples on our request samples page.
Planning your container and shipment
A good load plan saves money. A standard 20ft container can usually carry roughly 25 to 28 tonnes, but the exact limit depends on the shipping line and on road and port rules in your country. Granite is very dense, so weight, not space, usually decides how much fits in a container. We calculate the load by weight and by size, so you do not pay for space you cannot use. Mixed containers are possible: you can combine different stones, sizes or products, which helps wholesale buyers keep stock varied.
We ship from the ports of Mundra and Kandla in Gujarat to ports around the world, and we share photos of the loading so you can see how your stone is secured. Sea freight time depends on the route and the shipping line, and we give you an expected time with each quote.
Export documents and customs for granite pavers
Clear paperwork keeps your container moving. For every shipment we prepare the commercial invoice, packing list and bill of lading, and where your country needs it, a certificate of origin and other documents. Packing wood is treated for export, and we can supply the treatment details if your port requires them. Crude or roughly trimmed granite is generally classified under HS heading 2516, and worked granite under 6802.
Customs rules and duty rates differ by country, so please confirm the exact classification and duty with your customs broker or the official tariff of your country. If you tell us your port and clearing agent, we will send documents in the format they prefer, and we are happy to answer their questions directly.
Quality control, inspection and claims
Before packing granite pavers, our team checks size, thickness, surface, colour and edges. We separate pieces that do not meet the agreed standard, and we explain what is natural variation and what is a defect. You are welcome to arrange third-party inspection before loading, and we cooperate fully with inspectors.
If a problem is found when the container arrives, tell us quickly and send photos of the packing, the damaged pieces and the container condition. We look at each case fairly and work with you on a solution. Good packing, honest photos and clear agreements keep claims rare.
