Industries and buyers we serve

Industries and buyers we serve

Natural stone is used by many different types of business, and each one buys in its own way. Natural Stone Cart supplies importers, distributors, stone yards, fabricators, builders, contractors, architects, interior designers, landscape companies and hotel developers. This page explains what each group usually needs and how we support them.

Importers and distributors

Importers buy by the container and sell to stone yards, merchants and contractors in their country. They need steady supply, clear specifications, competitive prices and documents that make customs easy. We offer mixed containers, repeat order support, consistent colour from the same lot and early communication about shipping dates.

Stone yards and fabricators

Yards and fabricators need slabs that cut well and match across a project. They care about slab size, thickness, flatness and polish. We supply gangsaw and cutter slabs in granite, marble, quartzite and onyx, with bundle photos and consecutive slabs, and we pack for safe handling by forklifts and cranes.

Builders and contractors

Builders want the right stone in the right size on the right date. They often work from drawings or a BOQ. We provide custom cut-to-size pieces, labelled packing, and progress photos. Tiles, steps, cladding and paving are available for housing, offices, schools and public works.

Architects and interior designers

Designers need samples, photos and written specifications. They like to see the exact slab and to match finishes across floors, walls and counters. We send samples, discuss options with mock-ups and prepare shop drawings for complex shapes, and we help with alternatives if a colour is not available.

Landscape companies

Landscape professionals need paving, steps, kerbs, walling stone, cobbles and pebbles in consistent sizes. We supply calibrated sandstone, granite and basalt paving, with packs designed for fast laying, and we can advise on finishes with good grip.

Hotels, resorts and developers

Hospitality projects use large quantities of marble, granite and onyx for lobbies, bathrooms, pools and facades. They need consistent colour, accurate sizes and delivery in stages. We produce in batches, label every piece and ship in the order you need.

Start with a trial order and grow from there

If you are new to importing natural stone from India, we suggest a simple plan. First, tell us what sells in your market. Second, review photos and approve samples. Third, place a trial container with a mix of colours or sizes. Fourth, after you receive the stone and see how your customers react, plan repeat orders and volume contracts.

Many of our long-term customers began with one mixed container. We keep your preferred selection and packing details on file, so repeat orders are faster, and we keep you updated if a colour or size changes.

What affects the price of natural stone

Buyers often ask for one simple price, but the price of natural stone depends on several things. The stone variety and its rarity matter most, because some colours come from small quarries and cost more. Thickness, size and surface finish change the cost, since thicker and larger pieces need more material and more careful handling. Calibration, meaning how exact the thickness and size are, also adds work. Selection grade matters too: a premium selection with very even colour costs more than a mixed commercial selection. Quantity helps, because bigger orders spread packing and loading costs. Finally freight terms (FOB or CIF), the destination port and the exchange rate affect the final number.

Natural stone is heavy, so weight, not space, usually decides how much fits in a container. To get a fair comparison between suppliers, always ask for quotes on the same stone, size, thickness, finish and terms. We write all of these clearly in our quotation, so you can compare line by line.

Samples, photos and approval before you order

Natural stone changes from one lot to another, so we never ask you to buy without seeing it. For natural stone, we send real photos and short videos of the stone you will receive, and we can courier a small sample so you can check colour, pattern and finish in your own light. Samples work best when they come from the same lot as your order, so please tell us if you want the sample and the container to match closely.

When you approve a sample, we keep a reference piece. If your order is large, we can send bundle photos before loading, or arrange third-party inspection. This simple process protects you from surprises and protects our relationship with you. Ask us for samples on our request samples page.

Planning your container and shipment

A good load plan saves money. A standard 20ft container can usually carry roughly 25 to 28 tonnes, but the exact limit depends on the shipping line and on road and port rules in your country. Natural stone is heavy, so weight, not space, usually decides how much fits in a container. We calculate the load by weight and by size, so you do not pay for space you cannot use. Mixed containers are possible: you can combine different stones, sizes or products, which helps wholesale buyers keep stock varied.

We ship from the ports of Mundra and Kandla in Gujarat to ports around the world, and we share photos of the loading so you can see how your stone is secured. Sea freight time depends on the route and the shipping line, and we give you an expected time with each quote.

Export documents and customs for natural stone

Clear paperwork keeps your container moving. For every shipment we prepare the commercial invoice, packing list and bill of lading, and where your country needs it, a certificate of origin and other documents. Packing wood is treated for export, and we can supply the treatment details if your port requires them. Natural stone is generally classified under HS headings 2515, 2516, 6801, 6802 and 6803, depending on the stone and the product; your broker will confirm.

Customs rules and duty rates differ by country, so please confirm the exact classification and duty with your customs broker or the official tariff of your country. If you tell us your port and clearing agent, we will send documents in the format they prefer, and we are happy to answer their questions directly.
