Paving and landscape stone for outdoor spaces
Paving and landscape stone for outdoor spaces
Outdoor spaces need stone that can handle sun, rain, frost and heavy footsteps. Natural Stone Cart supplies paving and landscape stone from India: sandstone paving slabs, granite pavers, basalt pavers, limestone paving, steps, kerbs, coping, walling stone, stepping stones and flagstones. We are a landscape stone supplier and exporter working with wholesalers, landscape contractors and commercial projects worldwide.
If you are searching for paving stone India, granite pavers India or natural stone paving supplier, here is a guide to choosing and ordering.
Best stones for paving
Sandstone is the most popular patio stone in the UK, Europe and Australia thanks to its natural look and grip. Kandla Grey, Raj Green, Mint and Modak are widely requested. Granite is extremely tough and ideal for driveways, kerbs and plazas. Basalt gives a dark, contemporary look. Limestone and quartzite bring variety. Slate flagstones suit informal gardens.
Finishes and safety
For outdoor use, grip is vital. Riven (natural split) sandstone has natural texture. Flamed and brushed granite and basalt give high grip. Sawn and honed surfaces are smoother and look modern, but should be checked for slip resistance in wet areas. Ask for slip-resistance test results if your project requires them, for example pendulum tests commonly used in the UK.
Formats
- Paving slabs in single sizes and mixed-size patio packs.
- Circles and curved features.
- Steps, treads and risers.
- Kerbs, edging and coping.
- Setts and cobbles for drives and paths.
- Stepping stones and random flagstones.
We prepare packs in the sizes your market uses.
Standards and calibration
In Europe, natural stone slabs for external paving are covered by EN 1341, setts by EN 1342 and kerbs by EN 1343, and CE marking is often requested by merchants. Calibrated paving, with a thickness tolerance of around plus or minus 2 mm on 20 mm slabs for many suppliers, makes laying faster and neater. Tell us what documentation you need, and we will arrange it with the producer.
Packing and shipping paving
Paving is packed on wooden pallets with strapping and edge protection, or in crates for premium products. It is heavy, so we plan by weight. We ship from Mundra and Kandla to ports worldwide and share photos. Customs classification for flagstones, setts and kerbs is generally HS heading 6801, and for other worked stone 6802; your broker will confirm.
Care and maintenance
Natural stone is easy to look after with soft cloths and mild cleaners. As with any natural stone, use soft cloths, mild cleaners made for stone and clean up spills quickly. Avoid strong acids and harsh abrasive pads. For floors, use mats at entrances to catch grit, and protect the surface under heavy furniture.
We give simple care instructions you can share with your own customers. Good care keeps the stone looking fresh for decades, which is why natural stone is considered a long-term investment in a building.
Start with a trial order and grow from there
If you are new to importing paving and landscape stone from India, we suggest a simple plan. First, tell us what sells in your market. Second, review photos and approve samples. Third, place a trial container with a mix of colours or sizes. Fourth, after you receive the stone and see how your customers react, plan repeat orders and volume contracts.
Many of our long-term customers began with one mixed container. We keep your preferred selection and packing details on file, so repeat orders are faster, and we keep you updated if a colour or size changes.

What affects the price of paving and landscape stone
Buyers often ask for one simple price, but the price of paving and landscape stone depends on several things. The stone variety and its rarity matter most, because some colours come from small quarries and cost more. Thickness, size and surface finish change the cost, since thicker and larger pieces need more material and more careful handling. Calibration, meaning how exact the thickness and size are, also adds work. Selection grade matters too: a premium selection with very even colour costs more than a mixed commercial selection. Quantity helps, because bigger orders spread packing and loading costs. Finally freight terms (FOB or CIF), the destination port and the exchange rate affect the final number.
Natural stone is heavy, so weight, not space, usually decides how much fits in a container. To get a fair comparison between suppliers, always ask for quotes on the same stone, size, thickness, finish and terms. We write all of these clearly in our quotation, so you can compare line by line.
Samples, photos and approval before you order
Natural stone changes from one lot to another, so we never ask you to buy without seeing it. For paving and landscape stone, we send real photos and short videos of the stone you will receive, and we can courier a small sample so you can check colour, pattern and finish in your own light. Samples work best when they come from the same lot as your order, so please tell us if you want the sample and the container to match closely.
When you approve a sample, we keep a reference piece. If your order is large, we can send bundle photos before loading, or arrange third-party inspection. This simple process protects you from surprises and protects our relationship with you. Ask us for samples on our request samples page.
Planning your container and shipment
A good load plan saves money. A standard 20ft container can usually carry roughly 25 to 28 tonnes, but the exact limit depends on the shipping line and on road and port rules in your country. Natural stone is heavy, so weight, not space, usually decides how much fits in a container. We calculate the load by weight and by size, so you do not pay for space you cannot use. Mixed containers are possible: you can combine different stones, sizes or products, which helps wholesale buyers keep stock varied.
We ship from the ports of Mundra and Kandla in Gujarat to ports around the world, and we share photos of the loading so you can see how your stone is secured. Sea freight time depends on the route and the shipping line, and we give you an expected time with each quote.
